Brian Mansbridge

Brian spent 30 years in the Royal Navy, trained as a Mine Clearance Diver and Hovercraft Pilot. 


He enjoyed two Ship Commands, a number of overseas postings and was awarded an MBE in the Gulf War for tasking the joint US & UK Mine countermeasures flotilla. On leaving the service he combined running a Youth Project for Hampshire with 15 years as a Non-Executive Director in the NHS. 


During this time he was also a Citizens Advisor, Church Treasurer and visited almost all the connected inland canals and rivers in his own narrowboat.  Married to Wendy he has two Children, one the head of the International School of Haarlem NL and the other in the Foreign Office.


When retiring to Lee he has attempted to restrict his interests to the LRA, the Gosport Society, St Faith’s PCC and limited volunteering at the Hovercraft Museum. He retains an interest in the Inland Waterways, travel and keeps fit by cycling.
